immigrationnewsflash1The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released the latest numbers on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) initiative. The numbers provided by the agency reflect activity between August 15, 2012 – December 13, 2012. Entering its fifth month, the numbers are encouraging. Of the nearly 1.8 million who are potentially eligible, nearly 368,000 have applied, nearly 103,000 individuals have received a grant of deferred action and another 157,000 applications are currently under review.

The newly-released data also provides the names of the top 10 countries-of-origin of applicants, as well as the top 10 states where applicants reside.
